Wilton Town FC Manager Resigns

Wilton Town manager Dave Rawkins resigned from the club at the end of the season after nearly five years in charge of youth and senior teams.

Rawkins joined the club in 2008/9 to start a youth team with the help of Charlie Turford, Pete Edge, Ian Lindsay and Lee Lewis. The project was to take a group of young players at under 13s right through to men’s football. The youth team was set up with players that were deemed not good enough and dropped by their clubs spending most of their time on the bench or not playing at all. Carnival 2013 News

Wilton Community Carnival is delighted to announce a new partnership with Wilton Shopping Village who have invited us to share their excellent facilities. This event at the Village will provide an exciting new opportunity for the people of Wilton to showcase a great event at a new venue. Continue reading

Wilton Town: 2 – Madames FC: 1 – Match Report

2nd February 2013
Wiltshire League – Division 1
Cattle Market, Netherhampton

Man of the Match: Matt Sandford

Wilton Town produced a massive upset on Saturday with a fantastic performance as they beat table toppers and runaway league leaders Madames from Swindon in a great game at the cattle market.

After a long break due to postponements Town needed to get back into action, and how they did with arguably a seasons best performance. Stand in skipper Chris Brown won the toss and put Town with the wind in the first half to help them get into the game. The tone was set from the first whistle as Joe Rawkins and Sam O’Hagan won two great tackles which gave Town their first chance to control the ball. Town were playing some good football but were also very aggressive, but fair in the tackle. They closed down the away side instantly and with the wind against them as well, the league leaders could just not get into the game. Town had a lot of the ball and were creating some half chances as Dan Paddington went close and Archie Lovegrove forcing a couple of saves. Continue reading
